ITRA signed MoU with Heartfulness, Kana Shanti Vanam, Hyderabad

The landmark gathering at Kanha Shanti Vanam on 8 September 2026, during the Stakeholders’ Consultative Meeting, was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Minister of State for Ayush Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Padma Bhushan Daji, Dr. Srinivas, Member, NITI Aayog, and Padmshri Vd. Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, along with other distinguished dignitaries from NITI Aayog and Secretaries from States and Union Territories.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Tanuja Nesari, Director, ITRA (INI), and Shri Kumar Kannan, Heartfulness Institute (HFI), in the presence of the esteemed dignitaries.

In a landmark initiative to bridge traditional healthcare and ecological sustainability, the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar, under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has entered into a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Heartfulness Institute (HFI), Kanha Shanti Vanam, Hyderabad.

In a significant step towards strengthening the integration of Ayurveda, holistic wellness, research, and ecological sustainability, this landmark partnership brings together the strengths of ITRA and the Heartfulness Institute towards advancing holistic health, research, and sustainable practices.

The strategic partnership brings together Ayurvedic clinical science, evidence-based research, Heartfulness meditation, yoga and lifestyle practices to advance preventive and holistic healthcare. It will foster national and international research, student–faculty exchanges, academic collaboration, innovation and intellectual property, while promoting biodiversity and medicinal plant conservation.

A special focus of the partnership will be on ecological sustainability, including strengthening campus biodiversity, medicinal plant conservation and green initiatives, creating a model where healthcare, education and environmental stewardship progress together.

This collaboration reflects the shared vision of advancing Ayurveda and holistic health through scientific research, innovation, education and sustainable practices, while creating new opportunities for national and international collaboration.
