The Department of Kaumarbhritya was established in the year 1978 – 79 with two sub specialties of (Bala Roga and Prasuti Tantra & Stri Roga), which were separated in the year 2006 and independent department of Kaumarbhritya came into existence. This department deals with the preventive, curative and promotive aspects of child health, starting from new born care to infants, toddlers and adolescent children of either sex.
The department also works towards better community health especially in the preventive and promotive health aspects of children in accordance with the various national health programs such as school health checkup programs, nutritional supplementation, anemia detection, thalassemia awareness and management etc. In addition to above activities, the department is also offering to international scholar’s foreigner’s three month introductory course in IPD & OPD.
