Art and Craft Exhibition

The students of ITRA- Pharmacy actively participated in an Art and Craft Exhibition on 2nd October’21. Filled with enormous passion and creativity, the students prepared and exhibited beautiful handmade purses, tantalizing sketches and canvas painting, DIY home décor items, dream catchers and traditional art. The participants from the Institute were Ms. Shivani Sharma, Ms. Hiral Thanki, Ms. Hiral Master, Ms. Yesha Malde, Ms. Sakshi Sisodiya and Ms. Dimpal Rajani.

Navratri Celebration – Ayupharm 21

The final year students of ITRA Pharmacy celebrated the grand event “Ayupharm Navarātri 2021” which began from 7th October 2021 till 9th October 2021. On the first day at 7 in the evening, our esteemed guest the Director of ITRA, Prof. Vaidya Anup Thakar Sir inaugurated the event and performed the Aarti after which Garba Rās was played. The following second day our Principal Sir Deputy Director ITRA Pharmacy Vaidya Joban Modha Sir initiated the Aarti. Thereafter students enjoyed the Garba. On the third and final day, the Aarti began by the hands of Deputy Director UG ITRA Dr. Varsha Solanki Ma’am. Along with the Garba Rās, the students participated in the competitions and the lucky winners were awarded cash prizes by the hands of the respected faculty members. The peons of ITRA Pharmacy acted as the Covid warriors and were felicitated by the institute for their contribution during the pandemic. Everyone relished the food and this successful event was concluded on the night of 9th October 2021.

NSS ACTIVITIES (“NOT ME BUT YOU")

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year, 1969. Aimed at developing a student’s personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at the +2 level in working for a better and improved campus-community linkage. The Motto of NSS “Not Me but You” reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service. NSS helps the students develop appreciation to another person’s point of view and also show consideration to other living beings. The philosophy of the NSS is well doctrine in this motto, which underlines the belief that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole.

Every year various activities are conducted by the NSS Coordinators, staff and students of the Institute.

Volunteering in Covid-19 Pandemic

From 9th April to 22nd May’2020, when the covid-19 cases were escalating rapidly in our country, NSS volunteers of the Institute participated with the police force in Jan Jagriti Abhiyaan against Covid-19 pandemic. The students helped in creating awareness about Covid-19 spread, the mandatory precautions and helped police in maintaining law and order on the main roads and hot spots of the city. The police department later felicitated these young volunteers with certificates.

Tree Plantation Drive

To celebrate Teacher’s day on 5th September, 2019, the NSS unit organized tree plantation in the college campus. The institute harbors more than 100 different varieties of herbs. Every year, such a drive is taken forth which adds new plants with ayurvedic importance in the Institute garden.

Campus Cleaning Programme

To bring awareness in the students of the importance of cleanliness and to keep the surrounding clean and beautiful, on 24th September’19 campus cleaning drive was conducted.

Jan Jagriti Rally

All the NSS volunteers of the institute participated in “JAN JAGRITI RALLY”, organized by Gujarat Ayurved University on 16th October’19. The motto of this rally was to bring awareness about single use plastic and discourage their use to make our country plastic free. Considering the adverse impacts of littered plastic waste on both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given a clarion call in 2019 to phase out single-use plastics by 2022.

Awareness talk on Abhyam-181 (Women Helpline number)

In collaboration with City B Police station, on 11th December’2019, the institute organized an awareness talk on Abhayam-181 helpline number and mobile application. All the female students and staff attended the session. In the year 2018, Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani had launched the mobile app ‘Abhayam 181’ to help women in distress, anywhere in the state. The helpline starts to work upon pressing the panic button or vigorously shaking the mobile, indicating the location on Google map through SDR, informing the police station and the five acquaintances of thewoman in need.

Road Safety & Rules Awareness Program

To spread awareness about road safety and safe driving rules on the roads for different vehicles, on 12th December’19, an interactive session on “Road Safety & Rules Awareness Camp” for students and staff was organized by Atul Motor Driving School, Jamnagar. Road traffic injuries cause considerable economic losses to individuals, their families, and to nations as a whole. These losses arise from the cost of treatment as well as lost productivity for those killed or disabled by their injuries, and for family members who need to take time off work or school to care for the injured. Over 21,000 people were killed, while more than 46,000 were injured in road accidents in Gujarat in the last three years, till September 2020.

Run for Ayurveda

All the NSS volunteers, students and staff of the institute participated in ‘RUN FOR AYURVEDA’, an event organized by I.P.G.T. & R.A., Gujarat Ayurved University to celebrate 4th Ayurveda day.It was sponsored by Ministry of Ayush, Government of India and was held on 15th December’2019.

Blood Donation & Thalassemia Awareness Camp

With an initiative to remove the demand-supply gap of blood units, IIAPS in association with Shri Guru Govind Singh Hospital Blood bank, organized a thalassemia awareness program and blood donation camp on 28th and 29th December’2019. The staff and students of the Institute participated in the event.

Special Camp by NSS Unit of IIAPS

One week special camp was organized on 13th February’20 by the NSS Unit of IIAPS at Dhunvav village. Various activities related to awareness about Ayurved and environment were conducted by the NSS volunteers.
