About Biochemistry

Biochemistry is the branch of science that explores the chemical processes within and related to living organisms. It is a laboratory based science that brings together biology and chemistry. By using chemical knowledge and techniques. Biochemistry covers a range of scientific disciplines, including genetics, microbiology, forensics, plant science and medicine.

Biochemistry focuses on processes happening at a molecular level. It focuses on what’s happening inside our cells, studying components like proteins, lipids and organelles. It also looks at how cells communicate with each other, for example during growth or fighting illness. Biochemists need to understand how the structure of a molecule relates to its function, allowing them to predict how molecules will interact.

Quality Control (QC):

QUALITY CONTROL (QC):

Quality control in the Medical Laboratory is the Statistical Process used to monitor and evaluate the analytical process that produces patient results. QC is used to validate whether the instrument is operating within predefined specifications, inferring that patient test results are reliable. Once the system is validated, patient results can then be used for diagnosis, prognosis or treatment planning.

Internal Quality Control Program (IQCP) is implementing in our laboratory by both (Normal and Pathological) QC samples purchased from Randox Quality Control, UK.

External Quality Control Program (EQCP): successfully participating in EQCP Programme (EQAS) conducting by Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory of Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamilnadu. Our Participation is since from Feb-2017, without any fail and we received the Certificate of Participation for the Chemistry, Thyroid and Reproductive Markers for the 2020-21.
