Objectives & Scope | This course trains individuals to become a good manufacturing pharmacist of classical Ayurvedic formulations, a good quality control pharmacist & a pharmaceutical technologist. The candidate can also enter into the services of food and drug control administration of the state. |

(1) The eligibility to seek admission in Bachelor of Pharmacy (Ayurveda) shall be as under:- (a) The candidate shall have passed the intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent examination from any examination board with the Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and have obtained minimum of fifty per cent. marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at qualifying examination in the case of General category and forty per cent. marks in the case of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes: Provided that in respect of persons with disability, candidate specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the minimum qualifying marks in the said examination in Physics, Chemistry and Biology shall be forty-five per cent. in the case of General category and forty per cent. in the case of the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and the Other Backward Classes. (b) Admission through Diploma of Pharmacy (Ayurveda) programme: Admission may be made on maximum of twenty per cent. seats out of the total number of intake capacity permitted for Bachelor of Pharmacy (Ayurveda) programme rest of the seats may be filled up by following the eligibility criteria mentioned in clause (a) of sub-regulation (1) of regulation 3. (c) No candidate shall be admitted to Bachelor of Pharmacy (Ayurveda) degree programme unless he or she has attained the age of seventeen years on or before the 31st December of the year of admission in the first year of the degree programme. (2) National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test.- (a) There shall he a uniform entrance examination for all medical institutions at the under-graduate level namely the National Eligibility-cum- Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to under-graduate programme in each academic year and shall be conducted by an authority designated by the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda. (b) In order to consider for admission to Bachelor of Pharmacy (Ayurveda) degree programme for an academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain a minimum of marks at fifty percentile in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Under Graduate programme held for the said academic year: Provided that in respect of, – (i) candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and the Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile; (ii) candidates with benchmark disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile in the case of General category and 40th percentile in the case of the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and the Other Backward Classes: Provided further that where sufficient numbers of candidates in the respective category fail to secure minimum marks in the National Eligibility-cum- Entrance Test held for any academic year for admission to undergraduate programme, the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda in consultation with the Central Government may at its discretion lower the minimum marks required for admission to undergraduate programme for candidates belonging to respective category and marks so lowered by the Institute of Teaching and Research in Avurveda shall be applicable for that academic year only. (3) Two seats shall be reserved for foreign national candidates, approved by the Central Government: Provided that sub-regulation (1) and (2) shall not be applicable for said foreign national candidates and for these candidates any other equivalent qualifications approved by the Central Government may be allowed. |
